word du jour: Galactagogue

According to Merriam Webster Dictionary the definition of GALACTAGOGUE is:

“an agent that promotes the secretion of milk”

You are probably wondering how to use that in a sentence.  Well, here you go:

Fenugreek, blessed thistle, and alfalfa are all herbal galactagogues.  However, it is worth noting that the average mother does not need a galactagogue to increase or maintain their breast milk supply.

    Lack of breastfeeding leads to an obsession with breasts.
