The San Francisco Chronicle reports that The Berkeley skirt lifter, a young man who approaches female pedestrians from behind, lifts their skirts and touches them, has struck again, police said today.
Two attacks over the weekend brought to 19 the number of incidents since October. Most of the victims have been walking home from fraternity or sorority parties.
The most recent assaults happened Saturday south of UC Berkeley, the same neighborhood where all the other attacks have happened.
The first victim was assaulted on Piedmont Avenue near Channing Way around 3:45 a.m. The second was assaulted on Dwight Way near College Avenue around 11 p.m.
The attacker is believed to be a white man in his 20s, about 5-foot-10, 160 to 170 pounds, with short, dark, wavy hair. Anyone with information is asked to call Berkeley police at (510) 981-5735 or an anonymous tip line at (800) 222-8477.
It can’t be that hard to pin this guy down, can it? He works alone, always offends in the same area, at usually the same times — although some times in broad daylight.
Where are the camera phones when this guy is out there? Girls, smarten up!
It’s appalling, of course, but the best deterrent would be if, instead of being upset or shocked, as many as possible of the victims simply turned around and kneed him in the groin – he’d soon stop!
